About the Author
Dawn P. Flanagan, PhD, is Professor of Psychology and Director of the School of Psychology Training Programs at St. John's University in Jamaica, NY, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Yale Child Study Center. She is the author or coauthor of several popular books in the Essentials series, including Essentials of WJ III Cognitive Abilities Assessment and Essentials of Cross-Battery Assessment.
Alan S. Kaufman, PhD, is Professor of Psychology at Yale University's Child Study Center in the School of Medicine and the Series Editor with Nadeen L. Kaufman of Wiley's Essentials of Psychological Assessment series. Dr. Kaufman worked closely with David Wechsler in the development and standardization of the WISC�-R, an earlier version of the test; has written numerous books on the Wechsler Scales and intelligence testing; and is the author of several popular assessment instruments used worldwide.

Outstanding contribution; must for Wechsler users

This is a terrific book -- it provides a lot of information on how to administer and score the WISC-IV. It has the same innovative approaches Kaufman has used in previous books on earlier Wechsler tests -- new ideas on interpretation and scoring that make sense. With the added viewpoint provided by Flanagan, a specialist in the cross-battery assessment, this book is a merging of two interesting approaches; unique project by two top psychologists in their prime.

Straightforward and easy to use, but lacked on the interpretation details

I'm a fan of these sorts of texts having found the Essentials of the WAIS-III a great resource I keep returning too. I imagine it will be the same with this text as I found it really easy to use and easy to read. Perhaps my only complaint is that there is little discussion about interpretation. Otherwise a great resource in scoring up your WISC-IV.

Different edition?!

Please check carefully which edition you want -- it appears Amazon has erroneously listed both this and the previous editon as the 2nd. And if you look, you'll see that all the reveiws for this 2009 publication PRE-date that (2005, 2007...). The 2009 edition is more expensive, but apparently has 200 extra pgs and a scoring CD. Pls make this clear and straighten out the edition info, Amazon! Thanks.
