Review
CD Reiss will have you on the edge of ecstasy with each turn of the page. The emotional pull from this story will consume you and leave you begging for more - Shayna's Spicy Reads

This is absolutely my favorite storyline from CD Reiss to date. The build from page one of Marriage Games to the very last page of Separation Games, the layering of this entire scenario, the utterly devastating cliffhanger leading into the seamless transition into book two, the way the two books seem to mirror each other by a thin veil of glass waiting to be shattered, it's all just perfection. - Jessica, Angie and Jessica's Dreamy Reads

I survived the 'Marriage Games' duet by CD Reiss! - Stacey, Sassy Book Club

This book is beautifully written. It reads like a musical composition, with different movements. There is the opening allegro, the slower, more thoughtful adagio, the frantic scherzo, and the culminating sonata. CD Reiss will leave you breathless. - Vox Libris

A 5 STAR sexy, smoldering read that will have you chained to your reader. - Books and Boys Book Blog

This book could not have been a more perfect conclusion to SUCH an amazing, epic journey between this couple. CD Reiss writes with a delicate, poetic touch. When you read her work you know that you are reading pure raw talent. - Bex Loves Books Blog

CD Reiss does a fantastic job exposing the complex and raw emotions that her characters faced. This two book erotic romance series is not to be missed.- Kindle Crack Reviews

If you are looking for a sweet romance story, than this isn't for you. This book has grit, and fight. It is a definite must read! - Kinky Kittens Book Blog

CD Reiss' writing is flawless and if I was not already a fan, this would have sealed the deal. Separation Games is brutally raw to the core- Adam and Diana's story tore me wide open and then put me back together.- Book Loving Fairy Blog

It's dramatic, heart-breaking, thrilling, confusing, and utterly breathtaking. To say the relationships and characters in this novel are complex is an understatement. The character development is phenomenal.- TJ's Loves Books

About the Author
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up, she's at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it gave her a big enough ego to try her hand at novels. She’ll tell you all about it out back, where a cord of wood awaits.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!

My. Ooh. My! Never was I expecting such a thrilling read or twisted read. Book one, Marriage Games, left me with an almighty book hangover and yearning to know how two diverse characters could possibly see eye to eye. An agreement is made which has just as many floors in it as their own traits. Traits which quite honestly drove me to despair. And I can’t even begin to tell you how much I breathed haltingly over these two contrary lovers-cum-adversaries’ actions. Read in twenty-four hours, I blame the author for making me put my life on hold, but I salute her for provoking endless emotions and getting me to step out of my comfort zone. I could quite honestly have strangled her—with utter pleasure, of course! Her articulately powerful writing and unique plot is enthralling, Adam and Diana’s story, astonishing. Convoluted boundaries were crossed and trodden on causing both of them; myself included, heart-wrenching devastation.

“What are you fighting for?”
“Us. Me. I don't know.”

I underlined, I highlighted, went back and forth and read what was written again and again. Yet I still couldn’t believe what was unfolding before my eyes. This book’s pace is fast, furious and the storyline’s complexity makes for moments of difficult reading; but at the same time, totally absorbing. Not only that, I was trapped from the first chapter. The protagonists’ web of lies or inadmissible truths for better words, meant that not one mere detail was to be taken lightly. Neither was one thread woven beyond being visual and became my drug. Rapidly becoming my book hero, I was ashamed Adam got under my skin with such ease since his attitude wasn’t to my liking. I found him perplexing and even more difficult to fathom out. Metaphorically speaking, I became Diana’s partner in crime urging her on regardless of the consequences. Saying that, if I got angry with one of them, the other received my ire tenfold.

“You made me like this. You woke me up. You dragged me out of the darkness and now you don’t want me in the light…”

The goddess of hunt…Diana. Is she the wife or the young woman who would hide or flower while trying to find her sexual orientation with a man she loves to hate or hates to love? Despite doubting her feelings, she really is the maker or the breaker. I felt that she had the upper hand throughout, but the price is so high that some scenes left me spent. Yes, I understood why she wanted to win the game. I needed Adam to change his tune, meet Diana halfway and give her what she yearned for. When he was having one of his selfish moments; believe me, there are quite a few, his reasoning didn’t make sense. Without realising the cards on the table were his to play, his actions would be the be all or end all. Not until nearly the end of the book did I come round to his way of thinking. That being said, I couldn’t blame either of them for having their discrepancies. Hmm… although there’s nothing lovey-dovey about their relationship, all I wished for was for them to be on the same wavelength.

“The problem is this. When you dominate me, I’m in love. But when I submit, your love dies.”

Adam blew me away! He’ll have a hell of a lot of homework to do before he discovers what he wants and who he wants to share his heart with if he has one. The only way you’ll find out is by reading this compelling and highly recommended duet. After finishing this book, a few factors have to be mentioned. Love in any form has no labels. Love conquers. If we fight for what we want, it makes the weakest of us stronger. Ms Reiss brought this home! A huge thank you for making this read and its characters come alive and giving the likes of me a lesson in Dom and submissive relationships. Bravo!

“I’m running west to chase the sun. It’s going to set, no matter how fast I go.”

No words...
By Lauren @ LuLu's Library
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story.

"I'd fall off the edge of Manhattan with you."

The slow burn of Marriage Games came full circle, creating a ring of fire in Separation Games that surrounded my heart and scorched my soul!

Love. Lust. Dominance. Heartache. Death. Despair. This sequel and conclusion to the duet brings it all. You will feel it all. Within the same scene I lusted after Adam then cried for the pain Diana felt as she broke into a thousand pieces.

How do you change your ways and love a sub when you've never done so before? This is the dilemma Adam struggles with going into Separation games. He is unsure how to save a marriage that seems doomed. He loved his wife dearly and was heartbroken when she left a single, handwritten note indicating she no longer loved him and wanted a divorce. In Separation Games, there remains a struggle to figure out if Adam and Diana even want to save the marriage that they feel was a faade from the very beginning.

Diana is out for the fight of her life, determined to win Adam back while also satisfying their needs for the lifestyle and mending their hearts, restoring the love in their marriage.

This is also a story of relentless pursuit. A pursuit to find a balance in life between what the heart wants and what the soul needs on the basest level. The writing is impeccable and the way CD Reiss spins this story will also spin your head. You will not be able to put it down!

An ending beyond my wildest dreams
By jeannie
Separation Games, the conclusion of CD Reiss' ground breaking Games Duet, is a heart wrenching, soaring elegy for the disintegration of a marriage so full of love that it refuses to die. This story is beyond amazing - more than I dared to hope for in my wildest dreams (and I'm pretty daring/demanding). It is one of the most beautiful, painful things I have ever read. Adam and Diana have finally stripped their masks away and have to decide whether they like what they see in the mirror and each other. It's a poignant, frustrating, joyous and devastating journey I didn't want to end. Adam and Diana have been taking up space in my heart since I turned the first page of Marriage Games and they just don't want to leave.
Adam, a closer, fails for the first time. He rouses Diana's submission from its slumber, but that doesn't exactly kill his love for her. He's in this limbo, clinging to his belief he can't love a sub, but not willing to let Diana go. Complicating matters further, Diana's love for him (at least for "Montauk Adam") comes raging to life like a three alarm blaze, ignited by Adam's Dominance and the new connection it forges. Separation Games opens with Diana, her mask in tatters, left to wrestle with her submission as her emotional universe crumbles around her. The tables are turned - it's up to Diana to be the closer for the first time ever. Can she do it?
The sense of ennui as Diana was trying to figure out the how of her plan perfectly reflects the onslaught of emotions she was dealing with. But once she shook that feeling, the pace and emotional weight of all she was trying to do kept steadily building - so much fear and trepidation. Could she forge a new path for them and convince Adam he could love her - submission and all - in the fourteen days left in their deal?
Adam tries to use sex to keep Diana at arm's length while Diana uses sex to communicate where her words fail. The sex (and there's a lot of it) is electric, inventive and off the charts hot. You'll never look at legos the same way again.
The writing, as always, is impeccable. It's poetic, hypnotic, and enticing. As always, Ms. Reiss seduces you with her words. You're invested in every step of the Steinbeck's journey. In Separation Games, she creates these stunning mirror images with the moments of Adam's and Diana's emotional breakthroughs - which occur in their childhood beds. They're achingly beautiful and woven through with so much subtle symbolism. She conveys so much in those scenes that I'm still thinking about them.
Diana and Adam are so REAL, it makes the story so much richer. They're that couple we all have as friends who you adore - but you're exhausted by their indecision and inability to recognize the emotional connection that's obvious to everyone else. They're characters who frustrate the hell out of you but you never want to stop rooting for them. They are so well drawn that we can't help but see bits and pieces of ourselves and feel empathy for them.
The ride isn't wild as much as it is unrelenting. The emotions are a lot for a reader to wrap their head around - and the result is more haunting that Marriage Games. I was holding my breath for them both, and then my heart cracked open like a damn egg and all these feelings just poured out. I was just spent. The end of Adam and Diana's journey is almost like a drop after sub space as you process everything. Aftercare is a must!
