The book is overpriced in my opinion (it should be in the $10 or less range). Most of the information in the book was painfully obvious to me. I spent about 30 minutes reading the book and it has been on my shelf since then. It might be useful for someone who knows absolutely nothing about recruiting (and I am no expert), but for me there wasn't much I learned from the book.

Interesting and relevant.

Some people are naturally gifted with charisma. They effortlessly grab people's attention and talk to complete strangers with ease. This book is for the rest of us: those who feel awkward approaching strangers, unsure of the protocol and apprehensive about following up. This book is a fascinating look at networking for the MBA student, broken down into step by step instructions. From the uncertainty of first impressions to the proper procedure for follow up communications, every interaction is laid out in an entertaining, easy to follow way.

This book is specifically written with the MBA student in mind, but any professional looking to get ahead can utilize the system outlined in this book. I know first hand that networking is a vital part of the arts community, as much of our funding comes from private donors and grants. I'm always working to improve my skills as my livelihood can literally depend on my contacts.

This book has definitely done a lot to prepare me for business school. It is an excellent look at the methodology behind business interactions, detailing the processes of forming, cultivating and maximizing connections. I would recommend this book to any prospective MBA student or professional.

“ I’m happy and grateful my headache will go away” with other ...

My name is Joyce A. Ashby and I have a testimonial to doing tapping. I watched a few video’s online to find out how to do the EFT Tapping, and started doing it on mine own. If I can do it so can you.. a bit of studying and reading the books helps also. I had a sore shoulder from something that I did that I’m not to sure how, but I did tapping on it twice a day for 1 week straight and the soreness went away! I just could not believe how well it works. I later did tapping on my allergy’s that I have had for over 25 years. I followed what I have learned about how to find out what emotion that is attached to it. Asking questions as I went, and out of the blue an emotion popped in my head, and I worked on that. I started to cry, but kept on going. I noticed that over the last few months that I have done the tapping about my allergy’s my sinus started draining down the back of my throat. At first I thought it was just a fluky thing, but it happened every time I tapped on my allergy’s. I do it at night most of the time, and it also helps me fall asleep. I pass the information on to as many people that I get in contact with that have pain, or other issues. I’m so very THANKFUL to Nick and his sister for the work that they do, and sharing with us the information online, and in the books. I know at first, I was a bit skeptical about doing the tapping because it sounded odd, but I just did it and saw RESULTS!! Some things may take longer to do. When I get a headache I tap as soon as I can with a lot of positive words as I tap. I try to say, “ I’m happy and grateful my headache will go away” with other positive words. Each situation is different. To me with having allergy’s for so long I had to find the emotion that went with it, and tap through that and than go from there. When you don’t have to take drugs to feel better that is the BEST thing ever! Amen to Nick and Jessica for all the help they do.. I love you and I am so glad that I learned about EFT (tapping) thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have been following tapping for a little while now, dabbling here and there. With this book I am finally giving it my whole effort. With REALLY giving it a chance I am seeing results. This really works. It amazes me that something so simple just works like magic! The book teaches of the connections between body, emotions, and stress that all cause pain, then tapping away those emotions and stresses. Love that it is helping with the bulging disc pain in my back. I really have not wanted to go the surgery route and now I don't have too.

Yes! It works, and now you've found it!!

I've known about EFT for years and have found it very helpful; but the way it was taught back then included some pretty complicated diagnostics, and different 'algorithms' for each condition or problem. It was a LOT to take in, especially if you're already stressed or hurting.

Which is why I am so impressed with this book! Nick has honed and simplified this technique in a truly inspired way. The EFT series he teaches is both easy to learn and amazingly effective. You don't have to be an expert; from the very first time, you'll be able to see--and FEEL--the difference.

"Emotional stress produces physical illness" is the sturdy, and somewhat rusty, hook from which all of Schindler's observations on how to live a better life dangle. Originally published in the pre-biotech era of the mid-1950s, the book introduced readers to the idea that an elevated stress level, related to everything from financial insecurity to the fear of dying, can manifest itself in the nervous and endocrine systems, resulting in symptoms that mimic diseases-a syndrome that Schindler dubbed EII (emotionally induced illness). It is from this familiar, though certainly relevant, concept that Schindler tethers a surplus of one-liner philosophies for achieving happiness: "Get up on the right side of the bed," "Allow yourself the delightful feeling of being happy" and "Avoid running your misfortune through your mind like a repeating phonograph record." The introduction to this new edition, by health care journalist Holtz, cautions that "Schindler's message-that right thoughts bring health and wrong thoughts bring disease''-can be dangerous if carried too far. This warning is essential as one peruses the cheerful, overly simplistic advice (including the prohibition of sex outside marriage) that ultimately-like a phonograph record-has limited relevance to today's world.

This book was loaned to me in 1954. I live better for reading and integrating into my life, my children's, my friends and even have been asked how I could deal with death, burdens, worry and tragedy. Set a pattern and enjoy the better side of some difficult times so that you venture and find the better ones.

About the Author
Ertuğrul Sevsay is Professor of Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria and has been teaching orchestration for over two decades. His extensive knowledge has led to the development of special courses in orchestration for music engineers at the University of Miami and orchestration for orchestra conductors at Vienna's University of Music. He has always believed that orchestration is just as important for conductors and music engineers as it is for composers and arrangers and was inspired to create this comprehensive guide as a result of the lectures, seminars and classes he has led in dozens of countries worldwide.

An academic study of the failure of anticorruption efforts

This is an excellent book. Its academic / sociological approach may put off some lay readers, but that would be too bad. The subject, and the message, are both very important. In many ways, this book is similar to "The Appearance of Impropriety: How the Ethics Wars Have Undermined American Government, Business and Society," but although this book is somewhat less accessible to general readers it is certainly stronger from a social-science standpoint. An excellent book, well worth reading for anyone interested in why repeated efforts to stamp out political corruption have borne such mixed (at best) results.
