Her travels take her nationwide and internationally to help companies automate and use CAD systems more efficiently. She has directed fashion shows, created curriculums and taught courses including drawing, sewing, automated patternmaking and fashion show production at several universities. Her extensive industry, consulting, and classroom experience paired with her career experience at Gerber Technology give her a unique position when training students, faculty, or design professionals on CAD software.

Step By Step Through Gerber functions

This is a very basic, workbook style walk through all the funtions of Gerber, menu by menu. The book explains the terms used by Gerber and helps to understand the often arcane thought process by which Gerber's functions are organized. Great for beginners.

The most poorly written hunting book I have ever read. I regret having spent money on it. The author should hire someone to actually rewrite it so it does not appear to be written by a first-grader. It went directly to the recycle bin. I recommend Byron Dalrymple's dove hunting book.

Richard Crouter is Emeritus Professor of Religious Studies, Carleton College, Minnesota. His many publications include the highly acclaimed Schleiermacher: On Religion: Speeches to its Cultured Despisers (1996).

Desmond Clarke is Professor of Philosophy at University College Cork. He received a DLitt from the National University of Ireland, was Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence, and has been elected to the Royal Irish Academy. He is the author of a number of books on Descartes and the seventeenth century, most recently Descartes' Theory of Mind (2005).

Karl Ameriks is McMahon Hank Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. A recipient of fellowships from the Humboldt Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the Earheart Foundation, he is the author of several books, including Kant's Theory of Mind and Kant and the Fate of Autonomy, and editor of The Cambridge Companion to German Idealism. It changed the landscape of Christianity

This book, written by Schleiermacher in 1799 at the height of his involvement with the early German Romantics, was considered one of the most provocative and intriguing reads of its day. It continues to be read today because it retains that provocative and intriguing character. In an attempt to respond to Enlightenment critiques of religion, Schleiermacher creates an entirely novel manner of thinking and speaking about religion. In this book it is possible to see the beginnings of his creative and controversial move to ground religion, not in metaphysics or morals, but rather in feeling (or what he later will call immediate self-consciousness). The ripples of this move are still apparent in Protestant theology today. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in tracing the development of modern theology back to its roots. The Crouter translation is particularly good, and it expertly renders the 18th-century language into fluid, clear prose.

Rationality could not explain the essence of religion

In this book, Schleiermacher wanted to revitalize the idea that human feeling is absolutely dependent on God. One who reads history in his era will find that something had disappeared from religious life because of subjective rationalism. I assume this is exactly the reason for Romantic movement. In the view of Friedrich Schleiermacher, romanticism was a movement of the rediscovery of feeling as the essence of religion. Feeling is the key idea of how someone internalizes the values, morality, and even the idea of God within himself.

For Schleiermacher, science and knowledge which is based on rationality could not explain the essence of religion. Religion has nothing to do with the knowledge of nature. The knowledge of God, on the contrary, could not be understood in the frame of `cause and effect.' Religion always related to the infinite thing, and in order to understand it, one must use immediate feeling. Schleiermacher said, "to seek and to find this infinite and eternal factor in all that lives and moves...and to know life itself only in immediate feeling-that is religion." Schleiermacher denied science because it could not bring out the contemplation of the infinite. Science or knowledge of religion is not religion itself, and it obviously, cannot be, possibly on the same level with feeling or the contemplation of religion.

It is very clear in his book that Schleiermacher wanted to put science and morality underneath religion. One could not understand any thing without religion. As a result, morality and all ethical systems have no meaning without religion. Briefly, it is impossible for a person to be moral or scientific without religion.

After subjugating science, morality and even art, Schleiermacher redefined religion and its relation to the universe. He defined religion based on human feeling, even though it doesn't mean subjectivism. We feel all particular action, our being and life, only through the consciousness of God. The consciousness of God is a kind of "external circumstance" that makes all people have the same feeling. Thousands of people could feel the same religiosity aroused in the same manner because of that external circumstance.

I found a unique idea in this book when he said: "Every particular religious organization has limited horizons. None, therefore, is able to embrace all; nor, accordingly, is any able to believe that nothing is to be seen beyond its own horizons." From this argument, Schleiermacher wanted to convince readers that difference of feeling is inevitable. Everyone, then, must be ready to see that there may be different views and experiences. Again, this can happen because "the quality of feeling" may be different. Schleiermacher stated: "Religion, however, doesn't for a moment desire to encapsulate all who have faith and feeling within a single faith or feeling. Its task is to develop sensitivity for the eternal unity of life's originating source among people whose capacity for religious experience is still immature." Therefore, within the condition of `immature,' one must be ready to have openness. Each person must be open to the fact that perceptions and feelings belong to other forms of religion for which he may well lack any sensitivity at all. From this point, Schleiermacher imagined a clear conception of inter-subjectivity in religion. He said, "this is precisely the real source of the art and love we are looking for."

In relation to morality, Schleiermacher made a distinct separation between religion and conduct. He used an example: one who acts badly may have no morality at all, but one who has morality may not be pious as well. So, the relation between religion and morality is not implicative. Religion, in itself, doesn't urge people to action at all. One can act well or badly depending on one's feelings. Therefore, conduct as a whole should be regarded as a reaction of feeling. If someone puts a good character into his feeling, his conduct will be good as well. The more we can attribute the character of piety to a feeling, the more strongly it tends to retreat within it.

The Beauty of Spirituality

I was required to read this book for a class and was completely blown away by it. Schleiermacher's concept of the spiritual nature of the world is immensely poetic and is the most beautiful depiction that I have read to date. His discussion of the idea of "cultural constructs" caused me to re-think many aspects of my own life, and the way that society and culture affect our daily living. I often reflect upon his words when I am swept up in the masses in the city. The beauty and joy that he expresses in life and the idea of truly living are splendid. In an era where religion and spirituality are all too much neglected, Schleiermacher causes us to think of why we think the way we do, and what the root of that thinking might be. His work could be considered a handbook for those who follow a mystical tradition, and his grace in manipulating the written word often rivals that of St. Augustine in his "Confessions." I believe this to be one of the most important and one of the most beautiful theological works for spiritually curious readers, as well as theological scholars.

Must Have for Resonance

I did not understand resonance structures at all using other textbooks. After reading this book. I feel like I am a master. I wished all college textbooks were at the caliber of this tiny little book. Klein is an excellent teacher. He gives the straight facts in a way that makes perfect sense and doesn't bore you to death. Understanding resonance is, I think, one of the most important aspects of organic, and you're doomed if you don't. Beware, this book does not replace your textbook or instructor. All of the important equations such as alcohol, alkyne, and ketone synthesis are no where to be found in this book. This book really gives you the fundamentals that you need to understand orgo. That reason alone is enough to get it.

GET THIS BOOK! I'm a current pre-med student at Columbia University and i wanted a book to help me prep for my upcoming Orgo class. Though I haven't finished this book, I can honestly say it is fabulous! I had to stop reading to come and write this review. Klein def. knows his stuff. He breaks it down into PLAIN ENGLISH! And for a student like me who hates the terminology of expensive text books, this is much needed relief. Its like he's talking to directly to you. You almost expect him to call, when you're done with the book, to congratulate and wish you luck in the future. There are many examples, some simple, others tricky and a bit advanced. I truly believe that you (and I) will go into any Organic Chem class and feel very secure about the material. Do yourself a favor and get this book. It concise, compact, and an easy read...A recommended book for you to take while your on that summer vacation!

Get it right meow!

Great book. Organic chemistry is HARD, lots of challenging topics and the class moves very fast.... this book is a lifesaver, I wish I'd gotten it at the beginning of the semester instead of the end when I was trying to review for a final exam. Seriously, it takes all the mumbo-jumbo from your standard textbooks (I had 3) and breaks it down to logical, simple parts. Get it, and save yourself the pain that I experienced! You could not find a more clearly written, straightforward book. Good for review, and to complement your textbook. In fact it should replace your textbook, but no professor is gonna go for that.... How are they going to sound smart, if you understand everything they say??

I just love the Thirty Days series and Ms Paterson adds a pinch more in Thirty Days Have April... Not only does the author continue the story from the previous books with her awesome characters and wonderfully detailed settings, NO this one has added tension and drama as well as that dash of romance and sexiness that made it a very hard book to put down...

well done Ms Paterson another fast paced and detailed story to feed my one-click addiction..

Looking forward to reading more.. now I just need to wait for Thirty Days June..

Thirty days has September, April, June and November. Each book takes place in one of the 30 days months.

September starts the series with Abigail James meeting Taylor Hudson, the CEO of Hudson International where she works in London. They start dating. Abby's Nonna (grandmother) dies and leaves her a bread bakery in Brighton.

November finds Abby pregnant, expanding her business, getting engaged and Hannah attempting to murder her. Along with Taylor's twin brother terrorizing them.

April finds Abby and Taylor married. Hannah on trial for attempted murder. Richard terrorizing not only Abby and Taylor but also Taylor's younger sister Nicola.

Looking forward to June. June should see the birth of A by and Taylor's daughter. What else will happen in June?

Hot, steamy sex scenes. Recommend for anyone over the age of 18.

Edmund Dulac's Fairy Book contains 15 tales from various nations or cultures throughout the world. The tales are clever and worth a read, although I did find it to be a bit dull.

The stories would be ideal for an audience of children, though possibly slightly older ones, since some of them are long.

There is an active table of contents, though there are no illustrations. Page numbers are left in the text.

A Different and Interesting Selection

If you love fairy tales and are looking for a different selection from the ordinary, this book should should please. It contains 15 tales from Russia, England, Flanders, Belgium, Italy, France, Ireland, Serbia, Japan and China. While some have appeared in other forms I found it an intriguing and original selection that was very well told. Alas, there are no Dulac illustrations. Even in miniature black and white that would have been a bonus.

Reviews do not match digital book

There are no illustrations in this digital book only bookmarks where an illustration should have been. Also the publisher, Library of Alexandria, states in the description that there is an interactive table of contents and this is not true. I was disappointed in this purchase. Gave it 3 stars for the stories though I have not read them yet.
